More About Me:

I am English, and I understand and speak Danish, but offer sessions in English only. My clients are often native English speakers, but also Danes and others who are comfortable communicating in English.

Types of Sessions and Programmes

I offer single sessions - either full hour-long sessions, or newly introduced mini-sessions for clients experiencing time pressure on the work and/ or home front.

For optimal outcomes, therapy programmes will be booked over 5, 10 or more sessions, but preliminary single sessions are offered at a discount, so we can explore our compatibility for the longer term, or should you simply have a few things you need to share.

Beyond my academic qualifications (BSc Psychology, MSc Psychology), my skills and training include Behaviour Change Techniques, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques.

Session Content

Core Counselling Programmes

The first sessions will typically involve a 360 degree exploration of your situation, your environment, the challenges you might be facing, and the feelings you are experiencing. Importantly, we will also look at how you usually cope with negative feelings. Together, we will then explore possible avenues for you to adapt and optimise your cognitive, behavioural and emotional responses to events in your life, to achieve better overall health and well-being.

Behaviour Change Programmes

One of my specialisations is design and delivery of Behaviour Change Programmes. These programmes include courses to STOP or LIMIT health-aversive behaviours, such as smoking, alcohol, and too much internet, as well as courses to START or INCREASE health-protective behaviours, such as exercise and eating fruit and vegetables. Here I use a tailored combination of Motivational Interviewing, and targeted Behaviour Change Techniques to suit your lifestyle, environment and background.

Session Length

Should you book a 10-session course, you should expect that the first few sessions will last 55 to 60 minutes, as we get to know each other, and the remaining sessions will be closer to 45 minutes. Research indicates that the ideal time to spend together in therapy is around 45 minutes.

Everything we talk about will be kept in strictest confidence, unless it transpires from what we discuss that you or someone you know is in danger, or that young or otherwise vulnerable people are at risk of harm.

These sessions are not the right solution for you if any of the following is true:

-       You have thoughts of hurting yourself or others

-       You are a minor or you are under the care of a legal guardian

-       You are in an urgent crisis or an emergency situation

-       You have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness, or if you have been advised to be in psychological supervision or psychiatric care

-       You were required to undergo therapy or counselling either by a court order or by any other authority

Klientudtalelser

Theresa - "What I really loved about the sessions with Jennie is that she is so down to Earth, and you feel comfortable talking about anything, and confident knowing that she will not judge you - also that she has probably heard it all by now! I like the way she makes it clear that everyone has problems, even the psychologist, and that we're kind of all in this together - it's not her knowing all the answers, and me feeling embarrassed."  Læs mere  Læs mindre

Georgina - "The sessions made me feel positive. Hopeful. Like I was Mario collecting gold coins. Or just picking up tools with every session with you; tools that I was gonna use, that would help me. "  Læs mere  Læs mindre

Ben - Stop Smoking Course  - "Empowering. Straightforward. Painless. Logical. I felt like you found the confidence in me. You somehow located what I needed inside of me, polished it, sharpened it, tightened it, showed me what it looked like, and put in my hands. "  Læs mere  Læs mindre

Thomas - Stop Smoking Course - "What I can say is that I’m positively surprised at how effective the programme with Jennie has been for me. I love that I don't smoke anymore, and I also love how I’m much better able to articulate my own thoughts and urges to myself. How I can put words to my feelings. And how I can rationalise and control them. It’s all so simple and straightforward. It’s that that amazes me. "  Læs mere  Læs mindre
